In Israel, Digital Literacy is refered to as אוריינות דיגיטלית. In schools a free translation of Computer Literacy or Computer Applications is used. Informatics is refered to as Computer Science.

Pupils are able to choose computer science as an elective same as physics, biology or chemistry. There are two different versions, a three unit version and a five unit version for those who are more interested in the subject. In lower secondary CS is piloted now for about three years for pupils who take Math and two of the other sciences phyisics, biology, chemistry. In elementary school a new program will be piloted next year. |
