Informatics: Availability of Courses Yes

For K-9, it is partly compulsory, but only to a very small extend (knowledge about simple programming is part of physics). For general upper secondary it is an elective subject in 10-12th grade. However, schools may decide that it is compulsory for all or for all at certain study programs.

Informatics: Curriculum Consistency Country

Currently, informatics is not present in K-9. For 10-12th grade (gymnasium, or high school), the Informatics curriculum is described at two levels (C and B with B being the higher level) common to all secondary education ( technical , commercial, and general upper secondary). The curriculum is described with seven learning goals. The curricula may unfold differently in different types of secondary education, but formally they are the same.

Less than five percent

Digital Literacy: First Contact Primary

All children at 1st grade, a lot of children even earlier in kindergarden

Digital Literacy: A Separate Subject? Integrated

Digital literacy is integrated in all subjects from 1st-12th grade.

Digital Literacy: Curriculum Consistency Country

From 1st-12th grade the digital literacy in curriculum is consistent across all schools. From 10th-12th there are local differences.

In upper secondary education curriculum is a requirement for integration of ICT in learning processes, and thus digital literacy. However, the implementation is different from subject to subject, from school to school.

Furthermore, there are very large differences in student basis regarding digital skills when high schools receive students from primary school.

Therefore, increased focusing on this challenge and possible solutions cf. answers D1
