The Committee on European Computing Education
In 2012, Informatics Europe in collaboration with ACM Europe has convened a working group to assess the status of Informatics education at primary and secondary schools in Europe. In April 2013, the working group published a landmark report titled: "Informatics Education in Europe: Europe cannot afford to miss the boat".
The report, which identifies problems and makes operational recommendations for policy and decision makers, had a very positive reception and resonated with different communities across Europe. This positive outcome led Informatics Europe and ACM Europe to establish a permanent "Committee on European Computing Education (CECE)".
The CECE was created to actively promote actions that will foster further development of Informatics education at all levels in Europe.
The work of the committee is supported by a joint ACM Europe / Informatics Europe grant.
